Hi, my name is Jenny Funes,

I am from Honduras. I received Jesus into my heart in 1994, when I was 21. My ministry in church is to work with the missionary people. I preach in Christian groups in houses, and I am a teacher at the LAMB Institute.
So Jesus changed my life when I thought nobody loved me and I thought it was better if I killed myself. But one day Jesus came to me and he told me, “I love you, you are so important to me!” So I decided to go to church and change my life.
I received my call in 1997 in my church when a pastor was preaching about missions. After the service, he was praying and he told us, “If you want to serve Jesus in the nations, come here and pray.” I didn’t want to go because I was a shy person, but the Holy Spirit moved on me in front of the congregation, and I told Jesus, “I want to serve you with all my life,” and He put it in my heart to serve with women and children. In many countries, they don’t have the opportunity like men to know about Jesus and His love for them. I want to go and give my life for the Gospel.
Now I have had my certificates in missions since 2006, and I have taken courses at the LAMB Institute in Honduras, Horizons in Costa Rica, Perspectives in Honduras, Church Foundation, and Biblical Studies. I have learned how we can minister to children with APEN.
When I began my ministry, I stayed in a "secure area" for six weeks. It was an extraordinary experience, because I was with the people. The women there have many problems. I want to talk with the women and tell them, “Somebody loves you – JESUS!”
So I decided to return to this area because I want to teach English and sing in their language.
Esther MillerGlobal Teams has been my agency since 2005. They are my family in Christ and they are helping me in my call.
I attended the Global Teams Discipleship Training Center for three months in 2008. My experience was cross-cultural because I lived with people from other countries and they shared their lives with me. This picture shows my friends, Di from Vietnam, and Odia from Rwanda. We are trying to be cowgirls.
I received some of the training before in Spanish, but for me it was a new thing to do it in English and the Lord took me deeper with it this time.

           Missions is praying…
                 Missions is giving…
Missions is to go to the people and to make disciples.
                                          Love in Jesus,
                                                                      Jenny Funes
