Prayer Needs

We appreciate your time and interest in praying for Global Teams, our missionaries, and the work that God is doing all around the world. Without your prayer support, this work would not yield the kind of fruit we have been able to celebrate.

Please join us in thanking God for the abundant blessings He has poured out on us, the missionaries, the partners, and the people we have been working to reach.

Thank Him for the innumerable lives which have been saved and changed through the power of the Holy Spirit on His people around the world.

INTERNATIONAL HEADQUARTERS

  • In the words of Orlando Otarola, GT's Latin America Director, the Lord has been calling us to, “Get ready! The wave is coming.” We believe God is preparing Global Teams for exponential growth and one of the ways we are preparing is to strengthen our foundational base. Please pray for wisdom and guidance as we develop policies and strategies that will help bring order and unity as we grow. Pray also that we grow wisely.
  • As we grow, pray for abundant financial provision for the International Office, to each area (Asia, Africa, North America, and Latin America) and to each individual missionary. May the lack of finances never get in the way of the ministry the Lord has called each and every one of us to do.
  • Pray for those who made promises in faith at the September fund development event, Passport to the World. Over $100,000 was committed and $10,000 has been received so far. Pray that the Lord will continue to financially bless those who made promises and pray those individuals will be faithful to send in their gifts.
  • Pray for the foundations, organizations, & churches that will be receiving applications and fund request letters from GT in the coming months. Pray that the Lord will give them a vision and excitement to partner with what GT is doing throughout the world, and pray that the Lord will give them the provision to fund projects such as: new Bible translations, leadership development, launching new Kingdom Ventures, funding key support staff, disaster relief, building security measures to help protect our missionaries, and new missionary training. Pray also for discernment in what projects we should ask these foundations, organizations and churches to fund.
  • Pray for our upcoming Capital Campaign. Proverbs 21:20 says, “In the house of the wise are stores of choice food and oil.” Pray that the Lord will be gracious to allow Global Teams to meet our goal of raising $500,000 by May 3, 2011. Pray that the Lord will raise up a team of Partners to help our International Advancement Team with this campaign.
  • For those who partner with GT to feel a connection with the missionaries and programs they support, and for them to know that they are a part of the GT "Team."
  • For those who are yet unreached, that God will prepare their hearts to receive the Gospel Message.
  • For those who work tirelessly in the field God has called them to, to be strengthened, encouraged, and to see amazing fruit for their labor.
  • For those who support the mission effort from the Administration Team to be efficient in our work and to feel as much a part of the mission effort as those who are in the field

  • Please help us pray for the $20,000 minimum that our six Security Sensitive Area Global Teams members need in order to form the Security Sensitive Area Mission as a non-profit limited company.  Our goal is to teach income generation as well as “everything that Jesus taught.” In short, “Jesus Schools.” These schools will be in the most isolated areas in order to continue the spread of the Gospel to unreached areas.
  • Pray for our new GT missionaries as they raise their financial support and prepare to move from the U.S. to this area in 2011.  Pray that the Lord will work in the hearts of many to be their partners.

They are currently engaged in a writing project involving theology.  Please pray that these students will mature in their depth of understanding as they delve into the older hymns which came out of the persecuted church. Pray that this study will provide a solid base for the teaching we do in this area.
  • Pray for our brother’s newly formed “Modern Christian Band” whose goal is to reach out with a musical Gospel to all parts of this area.  They are praying for: more equipment, a place to practice that would enable them to also develop an outreach to youth, and bus fare to many isolated areas.
  • Pray for a safe motor bike for our brother and his family. His particular call is to teach church planting.
  • Pray for storage bins for our brother’s growing family of orphans.
  • Pray for our brother’s congregation to find a bigger space for their growing church.
  • Pray that our brother may be able to fulfill his vision of preaching in every unreached area of this country.
  • Pray for our brother’s vision to plant a church in another district.

Requests from GT missionaries in a secure area,
  • I'd like prayer for both pastoral discernment and courage/boldness as we continue with our prayer development phase preparing for service in the Security Sensitive Area.
  • That God would direct us to those He's prepared for partnership in the Security Sensitive Area and that are simply waiting for His invitation to join in.
  • I'd also ask for prayer for God to reveal the "right" platforms for service in this area - ways for us (GT et.al.) to be a blessing for the long term.
  • And I'd ask for perseverance and encouragement for our brothers and sisters that still await God's timing in reconciling the nation to Himself.

Requests from GT missionaries in a secure area,
  • Progress/resolution in the logjam holding up our publication of the new Bible translation.
  • God’s hand in a new partnership between us and “a friend,” a well-connected and influential leader, in processing his feedback on the Psalms and Story of David.
  • Guidance for our partner in an opportunity to supervise a team of teachers in tutoring many children using (among other things) a “student’s edition” of our abridged translation of the first 5 books of the Bible.
  • Guidance and timing in partnership with our brother’s translation team in pooling resources and sharing work on a full translation of the first 5 books of the Bible, the Psalms, and the Gospels.
  • Help negotiating the role of a partner.
  • Resolution of long-term communication problems with some brothers and blocked attempts to partner in a practical way.
  • Help in marriage arrangements for our brother and sister—internal family conflicts have forced them to change the dates three times.
  • Arrangements and provision during a missionary’s visit to a Security Sensitive Area in December, particularly blessed reunions with friends and a visit to the school where she may teach if our family returns to minister there in 2013.
  • Blessing in the spiritual growth and family dynamics with our four children.

From the Team in our Security Sensitive Area
  • Pray for the ongoing relief efforts. We praise God for providing us with the systems we have been using to help tens of thousands of disaster victims!
